English: Note from uploader: This photo is part of my father's collection of 1937–1947, taken by him. After his death, the collection was divided between me and my brother. My part contains about 5,600 photos. Beside his own photos, the collection contains about 400 taken by comrades or members of the Propagandakompanie (which are stamped PK). The photo discussed here is part of a group of about 120 taken between Jan 1942 and July 1942 in the Demyansk/Kholm-area (Novgorod Oblast) (not Ukraine!). During that period of time my father was a parachute-sergeant of the German Luftlande-Sturmregiment (Parachute assault regiment) - later renamed Division Meindl - fighting in that area. The photo has a handwritten note inscribed on the back: Partisanenjäger / Meine Kameraden (partisan hunters / My comrades). Other photos from the collection show the partisan hunters with prisoners coming back from their mission (inscribed on reverse: Unsere „Partisanen“ erfolgreich zurück = Our "partisans" successfully back), German paratroopers frisking the captured Soviets (inscription: Partisanen) and a German Luftwaffe officer interrogating a prisoner (inscription: Vernehmung eines Partisanen) (see here). --Tvwatch (talk) 13:58, 24 March 2010 (UTC) (translation revised July 2020)
